IT is not so much that aiming was broke, just a bit screwy in this last build and a disappointment since Chromosome. The thing that seems to be going on with this current build is that the tweaks to the aiming affected hit detection and the mutual distribution of damage data based upon ping, time of contact and the point of realizing that the damage is being done by the player receiving and delivering the damage. I also fear that there has be an unforeseen point of maladjustment in how this interacts with all of the current builds of the weapons we have available in comparison to what is popular.
I for one NEVER asked for the aim assist to be turned on. I Keep mine turned of for all the good it does me now. I am not a proponent of aim asset being used or available in a FPS.
I have gone from matches just before the new build of 12/3 maybe 14/3 to 2/5. It also seems just as we as a player base begin to hunker down and are familiarized by the available mechanics and performances, CCP throws a monkey wrench in the the program and general playability of the game.
It is frustrating to say the least since the hammer that they have been using to hammer out the kinks of this game seems to be a 20# sledge hammer, not even a blacksmiths maul or hammer. Every swing brings about results, don't get me wrong, but it seems the folks in China are having issues with the level of appropriateness in these perceived needful hammer swings.
You don't use a16-22 oz corrugated head framing hammer when you are doing interior finish framing. Wrong tool for the job, and it creates more problems then it actually solves, if not completely destroys what you had in the first place. That is if you are trying to improve the game, which usually understood as fine-tuning maintaining a semblance of what was ther before and originally conceived.
Still as before the go to weapons are the forge gun, sniper rifle (for all of those wankers still sitting in the red-line - and I had the impression that that particular issue was some how going to be coupled with the AFK Farming fix this build) the AR (Duvolles are especially nasty this round it seams) and MD. HURAH for VARIETY!!!! I will say it seems the shotgun got an unfortunate bit of back lash from the build or they would be included in the group. Makes me wonder about this "internal" Q/A that is supposed to be going on. But I guess this is what you get when you test a build on a close loop instead of an active test server with players in a multitude of locations around the world. OR DO THEY????
Anyways, I sit may hang out and let the passive cook for a few days until they get their ducks in a row. Right now it is an act in frustration. Too bad. It is a solid concept, just that it seems there are some issues of extreme difficulty in translating the concept into a working model that gives a sense of balance when we don't even have a marginally acceptable level of the racial varieties necessary to constitute an ingredient bas that is able to create a menu.
